Privacy policy
Last updated June 2026.
The short version: I collect as little as possible, I use it only to do what you asked, and I never sell it. The details are below.
What we collect
Only what a feature actually needs to work:
- If you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address.
- If you use the contact form: your name, email, and message.
- If you use the "talk to an advisor" fit check: your name, email, and the answers you give about your retirement timeline, your rough savings range, and your question.
- Automatically, like almost every website: basic technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, and which pages you viewed. This helps the site run and shows us which answers people find useful.
We do not ask for account numbers, Social Security numbers, or sensitive financial details anywhere on this site. Please don't send those through the contact form either.
How we use it
- To send the monthly newsletter you signed up for.
- To reply to a contact-form message.
- To respond to a fit-check inquiry and, if it makes sense, arrange a call.
- To understand which content is helpful and improve the site.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
That is the whole list. We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the service providers that make these features work, and only so they can provide their service:
- An email platform delivers the newsletter and stores subscriber emails.
- A community platform hosts the paid community, if you choose to join.
- A scheduling tool handles call bookings.
- An email service delivers contact-form messages to us.
- Our hosting provider serves the site and provides basic, privacy-respecting analytics.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the site and the people who use it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and analytics
We keep cookies to a minimum. We use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful, in aggregate, not to build a profile of you. Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies if you prefer. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
Your choices and rights
You are in control of your information:
- Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe.
- You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information you have given us, at any time.
- You can opt out of any non-essential use of your data.
To make any of these requests, just contact us.
State privacy rights
If you live in California or another state with a privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to delete it, and to not be treated differently for exercising those rights. Because we do not sell personal information, there is nothing to opt out of on that front. To exercise any right, contact us.
Visitors outside the US
The site is operated from the United States and written for a US audience. If you visit from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the US. We rely on your consent and on our legitimate interest in running the site as the basis for handling it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it, or as long as the law requires. Unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, and we remove it from our active systems.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, and we deliberately collect very little to begin with. That said, no website or method of transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
This site is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top, and we will call out significant changes clearly.
